RSV

Just took JD to the doctor again after a long night of him not being able to sleep. After listening to him wheeze for a while the doctor decided he now has RSV.

They gave him a nebulizer treatment that he hated. Mom and I had to hold him down for most of it. It helped enough that we will continue to give him treatments 3 or more times a day at home. Thank goodness for that Elmo video. He said he doesn’t think JD will have to be hospitalized as long as we keep asperating his nose well and do the nebulizer treatments. Hopefully they will make him feel better enough that he will start to eat and drink again.

  1. Sorry to hear it.

BUT…After this little bout, you guys will be healthy for the rest of the year….it could happen….faith!!!

  2. My daughter had that too when she was about 4 or 5 months old. She was hospitalized. It was scary. We ended up getting a neb. machine for our house, luckily she hasn’t had to use it except for that time, but the doctor says she will probably have asthma when she is older. I hope all goes better for you guys.

  3. Poor lil’ bug. I will keep him in my prayers that he has a speedy recovery and you to that you can get a break. Hang in there mama.

  4. Hi there. Thanks for stopping by my blog. I have no idea how you had time to do that with all that’s going on in your life. RSV is scary but totally treatable, Cicilee is living proof of that. Take care of yourself. I’ll check back again soon.

  5. Holy sickness Bobbie! I hope for your sake the JD can stay out of the hospital. Sorry it has been such a nasty year for you. I hope it gets better soon!

  6. I hope JD is on the mend. I remember when Gib got RSV it was an epidemic year for it. If you can talk your dr into a rx of Albuteral to have on hand for future wheezy respiratory colds it will do wonders to help prevent other dr office visits for nebulizing treatments while little JD’s lungs recover.
