Tubes

We were up bright and early for JD’s tube procedure.  He was all giggles and smiles the entire time.  The nurse said he didn’t even cry when they took him back and put the mask over his nose and mouth.  It was a very fast operation.  The doctor came out and said that he had an infection in his right ear but everything went well.  Poor kid had only been off antibiotics for 3 or 4 days.  I’m sure hoping these tubes help his little ear infections.  Everyone loved how good he was.  I’m sure he didn’t mind all the attention at all.

It was the smallest hospital gown I'd ever seen!

He was a bit grumpy after when he was coming off the anesthesia.  We came home and he took a good 3 hour nap (mommy did too).  When I got him out of his crib there was blood on his sheets and coming out of his right ear.  We called the doctor and she had us come in so that she could clean it out and make sure it didn’t clog the tube.  JD was a trouper but really hated the part where she blew a puff of air into his ear to clear out the gunk. Trish showed up at the doctor to surprise me and take JD so that I can study for my anatomy final tonight.

Back to studying… I just wanted to give you all an update.

  1. Bob You are one lucky mom! He is an angel child. Everytime I pick him up he just looks at me and kinda smirks. I dont think I have ever heard him fuss! Good luck with the finals. I have 3 down one more to go… and I think I am going to die.

  2. Glad it went so well! I have been thinking about him all day. And way to go Trish! You are lucky to have a great sister nearby. Good luck on all your studying!!!!
