102.2

Yesterday when I took JD to the doctor I noticed that the rash had spread all the way down to his little feet.  The nurse asked me if he had a fever and I said no.  Then she checked it and it was 100.3.  SOOO Ya, he did have a fever.  They checked him for strep and it was negative but he does have ANOTHER ear infection.  The doctor said his poor throat looks very sore and he’s surprised that JD has eaten anything recently.

By the time I got Dieter home his fever had climbed to 101.7 so I gave him some Tylenol and put him down.  He was up again all night and is finally acting really sick.  Today it’s been a pain to get him to drink ANYTHING and his little fever is up to 102.2 degrees.  This morning at 4am and 6am Jeremy took over and let me catch some sleep.  He got him to drink a bottle and also gave him a cool bath.  (Thanks SO much Jer)  Hopefully it doesn’t last much longer because this mommy is wearing down quickly.  Having finals this past week and next week doesn’t help the situation.

Other than JD being sick I had to meet with a Pulmonary specialist today.  Mom mentioned to the Cardiologist that I have always had a hard time breathing, especially when I exert myself at all.  He sent me in for a PFT (Pulmonary Function Test) a couple weeks ago.  It went well and I figured it was no big deal.  WELL apparently my test was abnormal so that is why I had to go in again today.  It all boils down to this.  I have Exercise Induced Asthma and have probably had it since childhood.  I now have an inhaler so it should help out.  On top of that lovely bit of information I am also being tested for Sleep Apnea.  This is most likely because I am overweight.  We’ll see how the test goes.

Needless to say it’s been a long day today and I’m ready for a nap… HOWEVER I have anatomy tonight and a fussy baby that is waking up from a nap.  🙂  Don’t be to jealous you aren’t me today.

  1. This sounds a lot like G2, minus Rubella, plus one more ear infection. And I have that thermometer and I don’t like it… it always tells me way different temperatures, even if taken within a minute of each other….
    But we should have night parties together… Woooo… Hoooo!!…. No…. boooo….

  2. I remember the days…well, not all the doctors appointments, but the sick kids. But in my house hold when one got sick they all got sick. I guess that’s kinda the way it is in your communal living arrangement too, huh? Good Luck on the finals! Do the best you can, and that will be good enough!

  3. You day has put mine into perspective. It has been a crappy day, but if you can get through yours then I can get through mine.

  4. Bob I am working on getting to be a CPT (Certified Personal Trainer) and of course I would be more then willing to help you when you can. Maybe we can do a trade.. Massage for training? Anyways just a thought. Sorry about all the bad luck at the dotors! OHH and before I forget I need a picture of the Mauss family for a certain someones B-day in TN. Go ahead and e-mail one to me be it a snap shot or what mickiespence@hotmail.com. Thanks Bob! Good luck with class!

  5. His fever climbed even higher last night while you were at school. I tried the bath thing and G-pa got about 2-3oz pedialite down him. I couldn’t get him to eat a thing. Then uncle Art and aunt Steph took over until daddy got home.

  6. Hey Bobbie,
Sorry your baby is having such a rough time. When my little girl was about 6 months we found out she had RSV and she had to stay inside the house for a whole month. That sucked. We couldn’t do anything. I hope you don’t mind that I added you to my blog list on my blog. It is dustyasher.blogspot if you want to check it out. I post there more than I do on facebook.

  7. I am so sorry JD has been so sick. I HATE having sick kids. I hope he is getting better and that your test went well. Good luck catching up on some sleep! Also that is crappy about your asthma, but at least now you know what the problem is.

  8. That is seriously the worst! And then for you to be so tired on top of that, I feel for you…I hope JD gets feeling better soon so you can all catch up on the sleep.
