How is your view at work?

Yesterday night I got to do some massages at an awesome cabin up by Sundance Resort.  It was amazing.  I wish I was paid to look at that view everyday!

If I’d known the view would look like this I would have brought a camera.  Thank goodness for camera phones!

Working Mama!

I’ve been really busy this past couple months.  I tend to complain about being busy but it keeps me sane so whats a girl to do.  JD has needed a lot more attention recently and Gwen is also getting a lot more needy the older she gets, imagine that.  I was just talking to Jeremy the other day about how much I love my job and it’s been nice to feel like my education is paying some bills, but I miss being around the kids more.  School full-time, work 3 days a week (one of those days being a double), and JD’s therapy schedule has kept mommy hopping.  We haven’t spent a full day at home in months.

A solution finally presented itself and I’m excited!  I will be starting to work only 2 days a week up at the spa, Monday and Friday.  Both days will be doubles so it will be the equivalent of working 4 days but I only have to be away from the kids for 2 days and we will save on gas!  It could mean for some long days when we get busier.  But it’s worth it to be around my kids more.

June 2010

June came and went before I could even blink an eye!  I have been so busy with the kids and working that sadly keeping up on the blog/journaling has fallen by the wayside.

Our family is doing spectacular.  JD amazes us everyday with his improvements.  Yes there are also things that are showing up that aren’t favorable but I’d like to just focus on the leaps ahead he is making and not so much on the steps back.  We have gotten a pass to Thanksgiving Point and visit a few times a week.  Between that and some new therapies he is communicating more than ever and we are thrilled!

Gwen is growing like a weed.  She is off the special formula she was on and has been on the same formula JD was on for a few weeks now and is doing very well.  Looks like it was a Milk Protein intolerance and not an allergy after all.  She is a funny little thing and loves to laugh with JD.  She has decided this last week that her bedtime is too early and she will wake up a couple of hours after you put her down and want to play.

Jer and I are still working our tushies off.  I’ve worked a lot more hours at the spa this past month than we had originally planned on but it’s helping with some long-term goals we have so that is really good.  I still love working up there and feel very blessed.

I wish I had more time to write but nap time is about up so I’ll just post a few pictures for June.  :-)

Actual Conversation this Morning

This is no joke!

I am taking phone calls for the car show and this guy calls in to talk about something that I misunderstood at first, but he was complaing about a bracket.  One would think he wanted to vent about how is basketball bracket was doing, but NO his complaint was about a promotion running at the radio station which is a bracket similar to the NCAA tourney, but this is of local models.

People go to the website and vote, pretty simple.  This guy’s complaint was petty and pretty way out there, he was complaining that the girls who are listed on Saturday are getting an unfair advantage.  His reasoning behind this is because Monday through Thursday are listed for 24 hours, but the ones listed on Fridays last through the weekend.

I gave the typical answer ‘I am not in charge of that’ and that fact was that I did not know.  He kept pestering me and I kept saying I am not sure.  Why does this guy care so much and he kept saying its unfair, but the kicker is that this is his SECOND complaint on the same issue.

Dude get a life!

At least I got a laugh this morning at work.

What a Week

This has been one eventful week for our little family.  I’ll just sum it up since it’s late and I have to be up just after 5am for clinic in the morning:

  • I had my last 4 finals of the term, one of them being the dreaded Anatomy/Physiology comprehensive final.  I maintained my 4.0 but that Anatomy final was a killer.
  • Jeremy got his schedule worked out for the radio show.  It means a bit of a pay cut and some long days but he is excited.  Poor guy won’t have a single day off however because the Intercontinental job he has days off in the middle of the week, and the radio show is Monday through Friday.
  • JD decided to take a head dive out of his crib.  Mom found him in the middle of his room playing when she went to check on him.  He had one heck of a goose egg on his forehead for a while.
  • Jeremy and I celebrated our 3rd Anniversary.  Jeremy was working and I was taking a final.

The big news is that JD is now in a big boy bed.  We picked out this neat little bed at Ikea that converts from a toddler bed, into a child’s bed, then into a twin.  It works well for the room he’s in.  Happy days when it was 20% off at the register, and it was pretty darn cheap to begin with.  Thanks to a small bonus from Jer’s work that made the big boy bed transition possible.  It took some fun baby proofing of his room and a lot of cleaning today.  Mom and Dad were amazing help and I couldn’t have finished everything without them.  Jeremy was even a star and cleaned our room when he got home.  I will take some pictures of the room tomorrow for you all.  I was worried that it would be a hard transition but JD fell asleep right away, so far so good.

While putting the crib in storage mom decided it would be fun to “mattress sled” down the stairs. Don’t worry I got it on film…

News and Bringing Some Funny

I have teased some news on my facebook page a while back and neve said what it was about, just b.  A few people know, and I guess it is official even though I have very little news.  Well the radio station I work at is getting a new daily show which I will be producing, and hopefully this means no more weekends which means no more 445 am wake up call.

Eventually I most likely would being the update guy as well for the station after awhile which be real good.  The date is not known but from what I have heard is the end of the month, but we will see.

Time for the funny!! I thought I posted this video earlier but guess not.  This is Ricky Gervais and Steve Carrell at the Emmy’s where Gervais wants his Emmy back.  VERY FUNNY!

Job

I am looking for a part-time job.  It’s not my favorite idea, I already hate leaving JD in the evenings to go to school.  Sometimes you just do what you have to do.

Ideally I’d love something EARLY morning for a few hours a day.  If you guys know of anything I’m all ears.  THANKS!

WHAT THE…

This has yet to happen to be since December here at the station.  Every Saturday morning I record the shows I produce in a different studio so I can then save them to the computer and burn them to CD’s.  The only problem I had was when some from a different station The Eagle stopped my recording, I was ticked but my recording was still on the computer and the real important show is the Fitness Show and I got that.   That was fine so, I was ok with that since I got that show.   I could be wrong but wouldn’t you expect if something was recording in a studio that multiple stations use you would either move to a different studio, or find out who was recording and when they were done but I guess not.

It has not happened since then, until today.  I may have jinxed myself because another coworker came back from Jazz practice and he was wondering if I was using that back studio and I said yes and I mentioned what happened that one time.  Today it happened again and this time it was someone from Jack who went into that studio closed everything out!! and nothing was saved.  I purposely leave the audio on so people can hear it if they go into the room.  And it is not hard to find out who is recording or know if they are recording because the program is on the screen.  Plus today I am suppose to burn about 10 hours worth of CD’s for my Thursdays show, and I have all my stuff is saved there and the guy is pressing me for something I can not really control because the time it takes to make a CD.  I think he believes that here at the station I can burn a 2 hour show in the same it takes to burn a 45 minute CD, not quite.

Family Fun

Friday night we had a great time with some of Jer’s family.  Dinner was awesome (THANKS!) and we played a few games after.  I wish I hadn’t been in so much pain, but it was still a good evening.  I didn’t take as many pictures as I thought I did.  I think I may have accidentally deleted some.  Here’s one of our niece Hannah with JD.  These two look like they could be siblings (this pic’s not a great example).  It’s the eyes from Jer’s side of the family.

Thursday we took JD in to get some pictures taken from a children’s portrait studio.  I was given a free coupon for some Baby announcements and since I hadn’t made any for JD we decided to give it a shot.  It took much longer than expected, but he ended up having a couple of cute shots.  The waiting to take the pictures, then to see them was ridiculous.  I’m not sure if it’s always like that but give me a break, you specialize in children’s photography and you expect parents to wait that long?  We did end up getting a sheet or two of some of the pictures for grandparents and the like… wow they were expensive.  Since I’m used to taking the photo’s myself or having dad take them, I know JUST how much of a mark up the pictures were.  It was very hard for me to fork over the cash.  While waiting we played with JD a lot to try and keep him awake.  He thinks his mom is crazy, but he’s just too cute. I call the two pictures, “Say what?” and “Hey ladies”

Tonight we went out to celebrate Jer’s new position at work.  Mom, Dad and Bryan joined us.  The food was great.  Sushi is so good!!!  We made a reservation about an hour before we left and they actually gave us our own private little room.  It was spectacular.  They were so busy too, we were lucky.  Jer told them over the phone that it was 5 adults and an infant.  When they asked how old JD was, he said 2 months.  Apparently in Japan 2 month olds can color?  It made us all laugh that they gave him crayons and a menu, so I took a picture.  He was smiling a lot before the food came out, sure enough once I got out the camera I couldn’t catch a smile at all.  I’ve yet to be able to catch a big grin with the camera, one of these days.  I love the little picture of dad playing with JD.  Mom gave him those Levi’s, they are still big but he looked so cute.  Don’t you love his old man hair?  After the meal was done they asked what we were celebrating.  When we told them it was a promotion they brought Jeremy a bottle of sparkling cider to take home.  It was really sweet.

Phones no more

That is correct, no more working on the phones at work.  I interviewed for a new position at work on Tuesday and got the job and start on Monday.  It is quite different I will be working with specific hotels that are part of my new department and I will be helping those hotels set up their corporate, group accounts, and other things as well.

It is essentially the same pay, however they do have yearly bonuses based off of a percentage of my salary if you make certain goals, and a similar increase in my base pay as well each year.  This is good because I am not sure how long before I can move up to full time at the radio station or find another full time job in tv or radio.
